Manchester City Vs Chelsea Final

Chelsea triumph in Champions League final

Havertz winner downs Manchester City

Portuguese night remembered

Porto – Chelsea have won the Champions League for the second time after Kai Havertz’s first-half goal earned them a 1-0 victory over Manchester City in an all-English final in Porto.

Havertz, who cost Chelsea £70m from Bayer Leverkusen last summer, raced onto Mason Mount’s pass and rounded Ederson to score the only goal of the game on 42 minutes.

It was a memorable night for Chelsea as they secured their second European Cup and denied Manchester City their first.

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel masterminded the victory in just his fourth month in charge at Stamford Bridge, while City counterpart Pep Guardiola was left to rue a missed opportunity to add to his already impressive trophy haul.

The game was played in front of a crowd of 14,110 at the Estádio do Dragão, with Chelsea fans making up the majority.

It was a tight and tense affair, with both sides having chances to win the game.

City had the better of the first half, but Chelsea grew into the game and were the better side after the break.

In the end, it was Chelsea who deserved to win, and they will now be looking to add to their trophy haul next season.
